4. Additional bin orders and moving house

Additional bin orders

Residents and businesses can apply for additional bins, subject to a waste minimisation test and an additional charge. 

The City of Whittlesea encourages residents to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Buy Recycled whenever possible.

Applications and cancellations

To apply for an additional bin or to cancel your order, follow these simple steps:

1. Download the relevant application form:

2. Complete the form by filling in all relevant details

3. If you are applying for an exemption from payment, please provide details and proof (see below).

4. Submit your form by:

Residential Garbage

Cost

An annual charge applies, refer to the application form for the current price or phone the City of Whittlesea Works Depot on (03) 9401 0555

Invoiced quarterly in arrears separate to Rate Notice.

Exemptions

The following cases may be exempt from payment:

  • Households with 5 or more children under the age of 18; or
  • Residents with special needs.

Residential Recycling

Cost

An annual charge applies, refer to the application form for the current price or phone the City of Whittlesea Works Depot on 9401 0555
Invoiced quarterly in arrears separate to Rate Notice.

Exemptions

  • Residents with special needs

Commercial Garbage

Charge

An annual charge applies, refer to the application form for the current price or phone the City of Whittlesea Works Depot on (03) 9401 0555. Invoiced quarterly in arrears separate to Rate Notice.

Exemptions

Not applicable for commercial properties

Moving house

New House

If you are moving in to a newly built house you will need to provide Council with your Certificate of Occupancy Permit Number.

Bins will be delivered within 3 business days.

Please note: that bins are unable to be delivered if a Certificate of Occupancy has not been issued.

Previously Occupied House

If you are moving in to a previously occupied house and there are no bins please download the following form:
'New Tenant Bin Replacement Form (PDF, 37KB)'
