Living with kangaroos

In response to community concerns that more kangaroos have moved into urban areas this year looking for food and water, we held a community drop-in session on 13 June for residents to learn more about how to live safely with kangaroos and share their ideas on the topic.

For residents who were unable to attend, you can still have your say and learn some helpful tips on living with kangaroos.

Kangaroo map

You can use this social pinpoint map to record details of specific contacts or encounters with kangaroos that they have experienced or witnessed and/or make general comments about the issue. We will collate this information and pass it onto the State Government's Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) - who is the agency responsible for kangaroo management and are preparing a Kangaroo Management Plan for the state.

*Please don't use this map to report injured kangaroos - call Wildlife Victoria on 8400 7300 or visit their website.
