The consultation period for the proposed traffic management improvements for Masons Road, Mernda/Wollert is now closed.
Thank you for the ongoing community participation and feedback relating to safety and traffic management improvements on Masons Road.
The most recent feedback showed that overall, residents were opposed to the proposed modified T-intersection at Pearson Road, preventing further west-bound travel. Additionally, the majority of respondents were supportive of raised pavements, which were proposed to reduce speeds and decrease traffic on Masons Road, including through traffic on the gravel section.
At its 7 December 2020 meeting, Council resolved to install 15 raised pavements on Masons Road between Plenty Road and Texel Drive. The raised pavements will be installed in 2021.
Council will work closely with locals to measure the effectiveness of these upgrades.
As one of the fastest growing municipalities in Victoria, City of Whittlesea continues to advocate to the Victorian Government on behalf of the community to upgrade essential road infrastructure in line with population growth, including the duplication of Bridge Inn Road.
