McLeans Road Kindergarten Redevelopment

McLeans Road Kindergarten will be closed from term 4, 2020 and rebuilt to cater for a two-room kindergarten for operation by the 2022 school year.

McLeans Road Kindergarten, at 151 McLeans Road in Bundoora, was built in 1977 and currently accommodates only 30 children. Council proposes demolition of the existing centre to rebuild a new facility that will provide a two-room (66 place) kindergarten on the same site for operation by the 2022 school year.

Project timelines

In 2019, there are no changes to enrolments.

To ensure the new facility is ready for the 2022 school year, the facility will need to be closed throughout term 4 of 2020 and all of 2021.

  • Construction to begin: term 4, 2020
  • Expected completion: late 2021 ready for operations January 2022.

Kindergarten information

Kindergarten enrolments during the redevelopment will be accommodated at neighbouring centres across Bundoora, Mill Park, Thomastown and Lalor to ensure no child misses out on a kindergarten placement.

During term 4 of 2020 the kindergarten program will be held at Keon Park Children’s Hub which is located at 1-7 Dole Avenue Reservoir 3073.
