The City of Whittlesea has launched a buy local incentives program offering 25 per cent back on eligible purchases across the City of Whittlesea as part of a campaign to support local business.
From 1 June you can claim 25 per cent back on eligible transactions when you spend at least $50 at a City of Whittlesea business.
To support local jobs, local tourism and a strong local economy, Council has launched the $150,000 incentive program as part of a new It’s All Here campaign.
It’s All Here and incentives program offers the opportunity to get out and discover all the unique and amazing local businesses right here in the City of Whittlesea.
Administrator Chris Eddy said he hoped the program would inspire the community to think local first and explore Whittlesea.
“We are home to approximately 18,000 businesses in the City of Whittlesea. The past two years have been challenging and the $150,000 incentive program will help give back to the community and support business locally,” he said.
“We’re one of Melbourne’s largest and most diverse municipalities and we have a lot to offer locally. Promoting and supporting local business through the incentives program is just one of the ways Council is working to build a strong local economy.
“If a cash back incentive helps to drive business in our municipality and support local people and local jobs, it’s a win for everyone.”
Starting on 1 June, customers who buy goods or services in the City of Whittlesea can apply for rebates up to 25 percent on eligible purchases through the Council website. Each customer can claim up to a $100 maximum through the incentives program.
The It’s All Here campaign showcases eight of the City of Whittlesea’s business champions from a cross section of industries including hospitality, wellness, professional services, retail, manufacturing and trades.
Rebates are available on a first come, first served basis until funds are exhausted. The rebate is not limited to hospitality venues. Ranging from car servicing to house painting, local businesses and enterprises across the City of Whittlesea are eligible to be included in the rebate program.
