Celebrate World Environment Day

Celebrate World Environment Day

Tuesday, May 24, 2022

Build a bug hotel, test your skills on the Ninja Warrior Course or get up close and personal with native wildlife at the City of Whittlesea’s World Environment Day Festival this June.

Set in the beautiful surrounds of Lauries Field in Doreen, the festival will feature a range of interactive activities perfect for adventurous explorers to learn about nature and the environment and embrace the global theme, Only One Earth.

Highlight of the day will include an immersive and captivating native wildlife show by Animals of Oz, hands on craft and seed planting with Eco Explorers, fascinating science experiments designed to showcase different forms of energy and much more.

In addition to the many activities on offer, there will also be a range of stalls for you to wander through and learn more about our environment and the little ways each and every one of us can help protect and restore our planet.

And why not enjoy a BBQ sausage from the local Scouts, for a small gold coin donation, or a hot drink to keep you warm – and if you have a reusable cup, don’t forget to bring it along.

This free event will be held on Sunday 5 June, from 11am to 3pm at Lauries Field, Brookwood Ave, Doreen.
