Community events funding announced

Fourteen community events have secured funding as successful recipients of the first ever Community Event Funding Program.

The program offering grants to community groups wanting to conduct locals events within the City of Whittlesea.

There was an overwhelming response to these first time grants and we are pleased to announce the successful recipients, who will receive funding of up to $20,000 for festivals and events and up to $2000 for neighbourhood events.

Congratulations to the following groups who were awarded funds under the Festival and Events category:

• Whittlesea Cruise Nights
• Whittlesea Reconciliation Group
• MADRA
• Mission Smile Inc
• African Australian Welfare Bureau
• Plenty Valley Arts

And  congratulations the groups who received funding in the Neighbourhood Events category:

• Plentylife Anglican Church
• Whittlesea Community Gardens
• Laurimar Cricket Clubs
• Dads of Whittlesea
• Doreen Community Carols
• Whittlesea Community House
• Lalor Bocce and Social Club
