Community feedback helps shape design of major community park

Community feedback helps shape design of major community park

Thursday, September 30, 2021

City of Whittlesea residents have shared their ideas about the features they would like to see in the new Granite Hills Park in South Morang.

Council's concept design for the future major community park in Quarry Hills Regional Parkland includes a 50 metre flying fox, 'slide mountain' with a 15 metre long slide, water and nature play, connected walking trails and public toilets.

Local residents had their say about the upcoming park and play space by providing Council with suggestions to optimise the park's design, including feedback about bins, shelters, educational signage, traffic management and protecting the natural environment. The City of Whittlesea will incorporate these ideas and many more into the final design of the park.

Construction of Granite Hills Park is due to start in 2022.

The project will be delivered by the City of Whittlesea with the support of the Victorian Government.
