Council elections

Friday, October 16, 2020

Local council elections will not be held in the City of Whittlesea this year.

Whittlesea City Council was dismissed by an Act of Parliament in March 2020.
This means that if you are an Australian citizen or ratepayer, you are not required to vote in the Council elections which will be held around the state in October 2020. The next election for this council will be in October 2024.

Three Administrators have been appointed to Council, replacing the role previously performed by the Councillors including representing the interests of residents and community.

Day-to-day operations of the organisation continue to run under the direction and leadership of the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.

Local Council elections for all councils in Victoria will take place in October, except for Casey City Council, South Gippsland Shire Council and Whittlesea City Council.
