Council supports Clean Up Australia Day

Thursday, February 21, 2019

Volunteering for Clean Up Australia Day is a great way to get to know your community, show pride in your neighbourhood and help keep it beautiful.

Mayor Cr Lawrie Cox said the annual event was a great way to support the local community and make a positive difference in local neighbourhoods.

“It’s is a great example of how individual efforts can make a big difference to the community,” Cr Cox said.

“It provides an opportunity to get outdoors and meet other locals while helping to keep our City looking its best.”

Just two hours of your time can make a big difference to your local environment.

Don’t forget to bring a drink, some gloves, wear old clothes and be sunsmart.

Clean-up sites are run by the Clean Up Australia Day organisation and proudly supported by City of Whittlesea.

Find a local clean-up site at cleanupaustraliaday.org.au/join or register on the day.
