Enjoy outdoor fun with Council's family nature club

Thursday, April 22, 2021

The City of Whittlesea will run an exciting Family Nature Club in Thomastown, South Morang and Whittlesea Township during term 2.

The clubs are aimed at families who may be feeling isolated or are new to the area or even Australia and looking to meet other families in their local area.

Sessions are aimed at children aged up to five years old and will focus on sensory play, storytelling, song, craft, learning, climbing, balancing and movement.

It’s also a time for parents to disconnect from their busy lives and technology and re-connect with their child in nature.

Research shows that the more time children spend in nature, the better they are prepared for school, both physically and emotionally.

Family Nature Club is funded by the Department of Land, Water and Planning and run by City of Whittlesea with Eco Explorers.
