Female Inclusion in Sport Grants now open for sports clubs

Female Inclusion in Sport Grants now open for sports clubs

Thursday, February 11, 2021

Did you know women and girls are underrepresented in sport, both as players and leaders?

And research from VicHealth's This Girl Can campaign found two in five women feel embarrassed exercising in public, and one in three believe sporting clubs are not welcoming to them, despite most clubs believing they are.

We’re supporting clubs to change these statistics with our Female Inclusion in Sport Grants.

Your club can apply for grants up to $3000 for projects aimed at boosting female participation including:

  • Establishing programs or teams for women and girls
  • Holding an event such as a come and try day or a bring a friend day
  • Showcasing the involvement of women and girls in your club including volunteers, coaches, players, officials and committee members
  • Holding free skills and development sessions for women and girls

You can also contact our Community Development Grants Officer on 9217 2397 or by emailing community.grants@whittlesea.vic.gov.au for help.

Applications close on Sunday, March 7, so don’t delay!
