A free online community session will help City of Whittlesea residents learn more about COVID-19 vaccine facts as well as have their questions answered.
Council is hosting the session with Northern Health’s Head of Infectious Diseases, Dr Craig Aboltins on Tuesday 21 September at 6.30pm.
Vaccination data released by the Commonwealth has highlighted the alarmingly low vaccination rates in the City of Whittlesea – just 56.2% first dose and 32.1% fully vaccinated as of 12 September. *
Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said the City of Whittlesea had the fifth lowest vaccination rate in the state and Council was committed to supporting the community to get vaccinated.
“Increasing vaccination rates in the City of Whittlesea will help us combat the spread of coronavirus in our local community so we want to support our community in any way we can to help them get vaccinated.”
“This session will provide the opportunity for people to have their questions answered by a medical expert so they can make an informed decision about vaccination to protect themselves and their local community.”
