Get creative, share a summer fun photo and win!

The summer school holidays are upon us and with more than a month off, it can be hard to keep children entertained.

To encourage families to get creative and get out and about in the local area, we've come up with 10 fun ideas to try – one a day for 10 days – and is giving you the chance to win a family pass to one of our local swim centres.

All you have to do is follow us on the City of Whittlesea Facebook or Instagram pages, look out for the summer fun ideas from 1-10 January and take a photo of yourself or your family participating in one. Send it to us here, or tag us on Instagram via #10DaysOfSummerFun and @citywhittlesea. We'll be giving away 15 family passes each for Whittlesea Swim Centre and Thomastown Recreation and Aquatic Centre, and 6 boardgames, at the end of the challenge.

Day 1 activity - Show us your favourite thing to do at the local park

Day 2 activity - Discover a beautiful spot in your neighbourhood

Day 3 activity - Make a big splash in your local pool

Day 4 activity - Pick a new book from your local library

Day 5 activity - Create a masterpiece in your driveway with chalk

Day 6 activity - Track down some creatures in your neighbourhood

Day 7 activity - Create your own game!

Day 8 activity - Get crafty and decorate some rocks

Day 9 activity - Create a scavenger hunt

Day 10 activity - have a teddy bear picnic!

10 Days of Summer Fun – Terms & Conditions

Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these conditions. Entries must comply with these conditions to be valid. Eligible Entrants

Entry is open to residents of Australia. If under 18, entrants must have parent or guardian permission to participate.

How to Enter

To enter, each entrant must, during the Entry Period:

Take a photo participating in one of the 10 activity ideas. See our Facebook and Instagram pages from 1-10 January for a new idea each day. Ideas are not limited to the day they are posted, and any idea can be used on any day. Upload your photo via the online form or post on Instagram and tag us in using #10DaysOfSummerFun and @citywhittlesea.

Ensure that your photo is ‘public’ when posting your entry on Instagram, so it is viewable for judging.

By entering the competition, you give permission for the Council to share your images on social media.

Limits on Entry

Multiple entries by the same entrant throughout the Entry Period will be accepted.

Entry Period

The competition commences at 00.01 [AEDT] on 01/01/21 and closes at 23.59 [AEDT] on 28/01/21 (“Entry Period”).

Judging Dates 

Random selection of all valid entries submitted throughout the Entry Period will take place at 12:00PM AEDT on Friday 29 January 2021 at City of Whittlesea offices 25 Ferres Boulevard South Morang VIC 3752 Australia (or a working from home location). 

Prize Details

30 family passes to Whittlesea Swim Centre or Thomastown Recreation and Aquatic Centre (valued at up to $18 each) for two adults and two children. 6 board games valued at $20 each. All prize values are correct as at 29/12/2020 and are in Australian Dollars, but to the extent permitted by law, no responsibility is accepted by the Promoter for any variation in the value of the prize after that time. 

Prize Limitations

Use of tickets is subject to the ticket terms and conditions. Tickets must be redeemed before the expiry date marked on the tickets and can only be redeemed at the venue stated. Prizes are limited to a maximum of one swim pass and one board game per person. 

Prize Delivery

Winners can pick up and use Whittlesea Swim Centre passes until the end of the 2021 swim season on March 31. TRAC swim passes can be picked up and used at the venue within 6 months of the close of the Entry Period. Board games can be picked up from the Customer Service Centre in South Morang within 1 month of the close of the Entry Period. 

Notification of winners

Winners will be notified in writing via email on Friday 29 January 2021 and the names of winners may be published on the City of Whittlesea Facebook and Instagram pages. The venues and Customer Service Centre will be notified of the winners to ensure passes and board games are available for collection.
