Residents are reminded not to put their empty gas bottles in the rubbish bin, following a reported increase in the number of gas bottles being found in garbage bins across the municipality.

Gas cylinders and bottles should never be place in the kerbside rubbish or recycling bins. If compacted in a truck there is a risk they can explode and cause fires.

Empty and unwanted gas cylinders and bottles should be returned to the supplier for refill or disposal or dropped off at a facility which is licensed for proper disposal.
