Deveny Road, the missing road link between High Street and Edgars Road in Epping, is now open.
The road was a partnership project between Council, VicRoads, Costco Wholesale Australia, Pacific Epping and the Northern Hospital.
It has been completed as part of the Costco development and included traffic signals at the intersections of Hospital Road and Edgars Road. Construction also included alterations to VM Michael Reserve including a new basketball court.
Mayor Kris Pavlidis said the new road provided an important east to west connection for motorists and businesses in the Epping area.
“We are very excited with the delivery of Deveny Road. This Road is the missing link between High St and Edgars Road in Epping and will make a huge difference for our community,” she said.
“It will now be an important connector road reducing congestion around a very important part of Epping.
“It also serves as a great example of partnerships too with Council working with Costco, Pacific Epping, VicRoads and the Northern Hospital to complete this important project.
“This road contributes to the ongoing success of the Epping Central Metropolitan Activity Centre which continues to thrive as a jobs and investment hub in the City of Whittlesea.”
