The Minister for Local Government has announced that Mr Yehudi Blacher has been appointed to the role of monitor at the City of Whittlesea.

Mr Blacher will commence on Tuesday 17 December for a period of six months, ending on 30 June 2020.

Acting CEO Kelvin Spiller welcomed the announcement.

“I would like to thank the State Government for moving quickly to appoint a monitor following its announcement to do so on Wednesday,” he said.

“This is a positive step forward for our staff and our community to see action following Council’s decision to terminate CEO Simon Overland’s contract on Tuesday night.”
