Pooch‑perfect places for your furry friends to explore

Pooch‑perfect places for your furry friends to explore

Tuesday, September 28, 2021

The dog off-leash areas at Lyndarum Wetlands in Epping and Creek Park in Mernda are now open after the two spacious parks received fresh new surfaces, furniture and fully-fenced ‘quiet dog’ zones.

Fine gravel surfaces have been installed for high-use areas and more seats have been added for residents to take a break while supervising their furry friends. Other features include drinking fountains and fresh landscaping.

Mernda resident Rebecca Rinaldi and her pooch Simba couldn’t wait to explore the upgraded dog off-leash area in Mernda when it reopened this month.

“It’s great to have a place close by where Simba can stretch his legs and interact with other friendly dogs,” Mrs Rinaldi said. “It’s a great way for both of us to get some exercise.”

With over 18,000 registered dogs in the City of Whittlesea, there are so many amazing spaces for our cuddly canines to stretch their legs and socialise with other dogs. To find a dog off-leash park near you visit www.whittlesea.vic.gov.au/dogoffleash

The dog off-leash area at Lyndarum Wetlands is located on Manor House Drive and the Creek Park dog off-leash area is located on the corner of Plenty Road and Mernda Village Drive.
