Shared path at Sycamore Reserve complete

Shared path at Sycamore Reserve complete

Wednesday, February 26, 2020

Residents in Mill Park are pounding the pavement on a new walking and cycling path between Sycamore Reserve and Childs Road.

The 1.8km concrete path includes line marking and new signage along the route.

This will be a well-used shared path link for Mill Park residents - a step forward in achieving our Active Whittlesea plan.

Shared paths have a range of community benefits, including improved physical activity and social cohesion, improved road safety, and improved accessibility to local community hubs for pedestrians and cyclists.

We’ve also installed raised pedestrian crossings at Grenda Drive and Hawkes Drive and a safer crossing point at Childs Road.

This project was funded by a partnership between the City of Whittlesea and the Department of Transport’s Safe System Road Infrastructure Program (SSRIP).
