The Pet Expo is coming to the Community Festival

Monday, February 27, 2023

If you’re passionate about your pet, then come along the City of Whittlesea’s first ever pet expo to be held as part of this year’s Community Festival on Sunday 19 March.

Offering information on pet-related products and services, the expo will be at the Civic Centre precinct in South Morang from 11am to 5pm.

The expo will include:

  • free pet registration for newly registered pets
  • free microchips and checks
  • information on pet adoption and local rescue groups
  • cat management information including how to make your own DIY cat enclosure
  • free animal mask-making for children
  • plus, plenty of pet related stall holders to keep your furry friends happy!

City of Whittlesea Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said the event promised to be a celebration of community with music, entertainment and helpful information.

“We know pets play a vital role in the lives of our residents, improving wellbeing and taking their place as important members of the family.”

“The pet expo at the festival this year aims to be informative and engaging and I encourage residents to drop in and visit on the day.”

This year’s Community Festival will also include a Sustainability Lane where you can learn tips and tricks about living more sustainably, and for the first time we’ll be announcing the recipients of our City of Whittlesea Community Awards live on stage.

This year’s festival will showcase a range of performers live on stage including singers Kylie Auldist and Dave Arden and jazz vocalist Fem Belling, Dream Team and many more local performers.

And Plenty Ranges Arts & Convention Centre will also be hosting a special Community Festival performance the night before with Astrid and Otto bringing their exciting cabaret show to South Morang.
