To celebrate Children’s Week Whittlesea Council is inviting children to complete a quest by exploring parks across the municipality.

The Super Kids Festival will run from October 24 to November 1 with prizes to be won for taking part in the free quest with many different things to find and do.

Quest sheets are available by post (call 9217 2174) from your child’s school, local library, shopping centre office or downloaded online at arts.whittlesea.vic.gov.au.

Quest tasks can be completed in any park at any time. Upload your completed quest to go in the running to win one of 10 child-friendly hampers, each valued at $75.

There will be free drinks or treats for kids taking part in the quest, live music and roving performers on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November between 10am and 2pm in these activated parks:

  • Hilltop Park, Doreen
  • Lyndarum Park, Epping North
  • Main St Field, Thomastown
  • Mernda Adventure Park, Mernda
  • Norris Bank reserve, Bundoora
  • Redleap Reserve, Mill Park
  • Willow Park, Whittlesea

At these parks you’ll be able to see artworks such as chalk stencils, natural hanging sculptures, chalk illustrations, music, digital art, performance and even pathway-stickers drawn from Council’s Collectively Caring for Climate exhibition.

Digital artboards will also feature commissioned works by local artists as well as messages from the community.
