Quality Area 1: Educational program and practice

Literacy in the early years context includes the creative arts such as music, movement, dance and storytelling (NQS 2020).

It has the power to foster children’s communication skills through voice, poetry, stories, rhymes and chants in a fun way to enhance the quality of interactions with children in the years prior to school.

This practical workshop will give you the skills you need to be able to incorporate music, dance and storytelling into your everyday curriculum.

  • Investigate beat and rhythm with children of all abilities
  • Learn catchy rhymes and raps
  • Discover simple props and resources
  • Tell stories without books

Recommended for: early years educators
