Highlights

Whittlesea Landcare together with the 1st Whittlesea Scout Group and the City of Whittlesea are holding a community planting event and launching our revegetation project funded by Planting Trees for the Queen’s Jubilee.

Come along and help plant some trees along Bruce’s Creek, as well as enjoying a morning tea.

Other activities include cooking marshmallows on a campfire and a range of outdoor games.

You can also have your say on Council’s draft Sustainable Environment Strategy, Climate Change Plan and the Sustainable Environment Action Plan and help us create a sustainable and climate resilient future.

The Queens Jubilee project extends through until the end of 2023 and will involve a number of community planting events at this site.

This project received funding from the Australian Government’s Planting Trees for The Queen’s Jubilee Program.

FAQs

  • Are there minimum age requirements for this event?
Children are welcome under adult supervision. Please note planting will be nearby a creek so children must be supervised at all times.
  • Do I need to bring anything?
Suitable clothing and footwear for messy outdoor activities and wet ground. Gumboots would be perfect and gardening gloves would be handy.
Reusable coffee cup, and your own drinking water.
  • What happens if it rains?
The event will go ahead even if light showers are expected. We may cancel the event in extreme weather conditions (eg. high winds or heavy rainfall) and will aim to give 24 hrs notice.
  • Will there be a toilet on-site?
    Yes.
