Highlights

In this two-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own loom from items lying around your home before trying various weaving techniques and knotting styles. You will also experiment with colour and texture, resulting in a beautiful, unique wall hanging to take home.

You’ll come away understanding the basic steps to prepare a loom, covering terms like weft and warp and all the skills you need to weave at home. This workshop is fun for all ages and no prior skills are required.

What makes this workshop unique and sustainable is that all the materials and where possible tools have been sourced sustainably. All of the textiles we use have been diverted from landfill or left over from long-forgotten projects.

This workshop has been designed to teach skills that help you repair and reuse textiles in your life and keep them out of landfill. We believe that purposeful creation is not only financially but also mentally beneficial. It will also contribute to the global circular clothing/textile movement.

The workshop will run for 2 hours with everything you need to be supplied. However, if you have a special piece of fabric, trim or item that you would like to include in the project please bring that along so that it can be incorporated.

Spaces are limited. Register today.
