Thomastown Industrial Area: Creating jobs and investment

To build upon the Thomastown Industrial Area successes as a sought after business hub and to facilitate employment growth through innovation and collaboration with stakeholders.

The Thomastown Industrial Area Plan was adopted by Council at its meeting held on 3 April 2018.

This strategic document promotes a long term vision for Thomastown Industrial Area as a sought after business hub that will facilitate employment growth through innovation and collaboration with stakeholders. It places a focus on actions to inform a range of implementation projects that support Council's Economic Development Strategy.

The Plan is not a statutory document and will not be incorporated into the Planning Scheme, rather it is a guiding document that nominates actions and advocacy projects to support the economic development, land use and development, infrastructure provision and environmental sustainability of the Thomastown area.

The Action Plan within the strategic document provides a framework that sets out how the vision and aims will be achieved, along with how projects will be delivered.

As the Thomastown Industrial Area Plan enters the implementation phase, relevant Council departments will be responsible for the delivery of actions. The actions have been categorised by the objectives of the Thomastown Industrial Area Plan, with relevant provisional timespans and financial resourcing identified.
