The area builds on the natural landscape character and connection to the Quarry Hills Regional Parkland and the Darebin Creek.
The area covers approximately 285 hectares of land, bound to the north by Lehmans Road, to the east by the Quarry Hills Regional Parkland, an existing transmission easement to the south and the E6 Public Acquisition Overlay to the west.
Proposed community infrastructure and services include:
- 1 x primary school
- multi-purpose sporting field
- a Town Centre at the corner of the extension of Harvest Home Road and the major north-south connector road, with:
- specialty stores
- office employment space
- opportunities for medium density residential development
Council and the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) considered all community feedback received during an informal exhibition period in August 2014, and incorporated changes into the Quarry Hills PSP where appropriate.
The revised draft plans were on public exhibition until 18 May 2015.
Pending resolution of any matters raised through the consultation, the VPA intends to recommend that the Minister for Planning approve the plan as Amendment C188 to the Whittlesea Planning Scheme.
