Future Transport Network for South Morang

Major road construction and extensions to public transport are planned for South Morang in the coming years to accommodate the increase in traffic volume.

Mernda Rail Extension

In 2014, we secured a commitment from the incoming Labor State Government to extend the South Morang railway line to Mernda to improve public transport infrastructure in Melbourne’s north, and support a rapidly growing population.

Construction is expected to commence in 2016 and be completed by 2018.
