Respite for carers

We offer a respite care service to provide carers with a short break from their caring role while the person they care for is being supervised.

The service may be provided in the home or clients may be taken on outings within the City of Whittlesea.

Carerlinks North Service

Carers who look after someone who is frail aged, has an ongoing disability or a chronic or mental illness can access free respite through the Carerlinks North Service.

Spectrum MRC Disability Services

Older carers who support adults with a disability to continue living together with the family can access respite through the Respite for Older Carers Program.

To be eligible, carers must:

  • be 60 years of age or over
  • care for a person with a disability
  • be from a migrant background
  • live in North or West Metropolitan Melbourne
