Hands On Sustainability Program

You can stay informed about local sustainability programs and events being run during the year through our Hands On Sustainability program.

Environmental activities include:

  • community planting days
  • local bicycle tours
  • home sustainability workshops
  • compost and worm farming workshops
  • sustainability for business, rural properties or local biodiversity

We advertise these and other upcoming environment events in:

  • our online Events Calendar
  • our quarterly Whittlescene community newsletter
  • local media

To be kept updated about the Hands On Sustainability Program, subscribe to our bi-monthly What's Happening emails.

If you are part of a local community group and would like to promote your environmental events and workshops, call 9217 2042 or email sustainability@whittlesea.vic.gov.au.

Sustainable Cities Awards Program

If your business, community group or school has undertaken an environmental project, you can enter Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria’s annual Sustainable Cities Awards Program.

The program recognises environmental programs that highlight the principles of sustainability, community involvement and continual improvement.

To nominate your business, community group or school, phone 9484 2399 or visit the Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria website.
