Residents can arrange for small branches to be collected from their nature strip by booking a free bundled branch collection

Recycle your pine Christmas Tree

Book a kerbside pick-up of your unwanted pine Christmas tree through the Bundled Branches Collection Service.  This is a free service for City of Whittlesea residents, including rental properties.

* Please note Christmas tree only bookings will be collected on Monday 23 January.

Your bundled branches should be:

  • Tied together with string
  • Less than 1.8 metres (6 feet) long
  • 30cm (1 foot) wide.

Please note: Yucca branches do no need to be bundled but they do need to be placed neatly on the nature strip with the stems facing the road and the leaves the same way up. 

The following items will not be collected: 

  • Garden waste in plastic bags
  • Bundles tied with wire or plastic
  • Roots, rocks and soil
  • Ivy or blackberries
  • Tree stumps.

Help us to donate good-quality mulch to preschools, schools and community groups by keeping roots, soil and plastic bags out of your bundles.

Place tied bundles neatly on naturestrip. Unbound branches will not be collected.

Bundle branches using this guide - bundles up to 1.8m long, 30cm wide and tied with string or twine only.

Please note: This service is only available to residential addresses.
