Behaviour is the action of emotion and so unless we understand the emotion, we cannot understand the behaviour and develop appropriate strategies to support young children. This training is delivered in three sessions and is an interactive delivery model in a workshop style presentation. Dealing with the real-life scenarios and experiences facing participants, the sessions aim to work through targeted and specific solutions to real world participant challenges.

The sessions will motivate and bring hope, joy and satisfaction to educators work with complex situations.

Session 1: Wednesday 9 August

This session aims to focus on understanding the purpose of behaviour, and the underpinning emotion that is resulting in the actions and reactions of the child/children. It grounds educators in the view of the child's world, re-thinking behaviour through the lens of the child.

Educators will share their insights into the challenges they are facing in their work and critical reflection wilt occur, specifically focusing on how the particular behaviours may impact and be impacted by the learning environment. Strategies will be discussed to put into action for the following week.

Session 2: Wednesday 16 August

Educators will bring insights into this session as to the outcome of the strategies from the prior week. More in-depth discussion will occur with the session tailored to the challenges at hand. It will be an open discussion with Ideas and suggestions shared in a workshop style format. More strategies will be developed for the following week.

Session 3: Wednesday 23 August

Educators will bring insights into this session as to the outcome of the strategies from the prior week.

The session will give deeper Insight and specific strategies to support the child/children, other educators, and families. The importance of a consistent and collaborative approach will be centred in the discussion with understanding the situation through the child's lens being the key factor in effective ongoing solution-based strategies.
