Drop In services

Maternal and Child Health Service (MCH) drop-in services for open consultation sessions and breastfeeding support. These sessions don’t replace your child’s scheduled Key Age and Stage assessments but are suitable for follow-ups and review.

Breastfeeding support

Chat with a Maternal and Child Health Nurse or Lactation Consultant about breastfeeding, or any other issues with feeding your baby.

A support service for breastfeeding mothers.

No appointment required

If you live in the City of Whittlesea and need support with breastfeeding your baby, come along and receive advice from our lactation consultants and midwives. Support is provided on feeding your child breast, bottle or solid foods.

Arrive when your baby is ready to feed and attend at the beginning of the session if possible.

These drop-in services are CLOSED on public holidays and on-site interpreters are not available. Please check our website and Facebook page for updates on any other unanticipated service interruptions.

Open consultation sessions

These sessions offer an opportunity to visit a Maternal and Child Health nurse in between your child’s Key Ages and Stage assessments.

No appointment required

The open consultation sessions offer parents an opportunity to visit a Maternal and Child Health nurse in between their child’s scheduled Key Age and Stage (KAS) assessments.

This service does not replace the KAS assessments but offers shorter, 15-minute consultations for the purpose of follow-up and review.
