Promoting truth-telling of the injustices inflicted upon Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, National Sorry Day is held each year to commemorate the release of the Australian Human Rights Commission’s 1997 Bringing Them Home Report.

Join Elders, community members and the City of Whittlesea to honour and respect the Stolen Generations with a ceremony featuring guest speaker Ian Hamm, a Yorta Yorta man, member of the Stolen Generations and long-time advocate for Victoria’s First Peoples. The event will also include a minute’s silence and a Sorry Walk.

 A barbecue and light refreshments will be provided.
