The newly rebuilt Norris Bank Parklands playground plays host to a dizzying array of FREE shows and activities including:
- Storytelling tent
- Giant Bubbles
- Sensory play and Rock painting
- Hair braiding and Face painting
- Native animals
- Sweaty-as socks dance beats from the Caribbean's most ridiculous DJ, Juan Vesuvius.
With food stalls, damper making and every activity for FREE, Children's Week has never looked, or tasted, so good!
Bus: 902 bus (get off at Norris Bank Reserve/Settlement Rd stop)
Tram: 86 tram (stop #66, Settlement Rd/Plenty Rd) and walk 1km from Plenty Rd
Walk/Bike: via the Darebin Creek Trail
Car: limited street parking. A reduction in the speed limit to 40km will be in place for McLeans Road.
Cars displaying a Disabled Parking Permit.
There have been limited extra car parking spaces allocated for Disabled Parking Permit holders for the event on McLeans Road beside the new playground. There is also limited Disabled Parking outside of the McLeans Road Kinder.
There will be an Auslan interpreter on site translating for the official proceedings at 1pm and also for other stage announcements. If you would like to use the interpreter at other times please talk to event staff at the stage for assistance.
Changing places toilet
City of Whittlesea’s first Changing Places toilet has been installed at the site and will be available for use at the event. There is another disability toilet in the new toilet block and portaloos on site.
Low sensory environment
For those who prefer a calm and relaxed environment, the West side of the playground has appropriate activities. There is sensory play, Lego building, seed planting and painting on this side of the site. There is also a reading tent.
Hearing loop will be in operation at this event. If you need to borrow a receiver for the event, please go to the Information tent and leave some photo ID with us.
