Highlights

Ever wondered what edible plants are growing around you? With food prices continuing to rise, learning the age-old skill of foraging foods to supplement your diet (and keep the food bills down!) has become popular again. Join foraging expert, Anna the Urban Nanna, for a practical presentation on the basics of Urban Foraging.

The workshop will cover:

  • ID notes on a range of common edible flowers, fruits & leafy greens
  • the ins and outs of being an ethical forager
  • a checklist of commonly found plants in Victoria
  • a taste-test of a few foraged-food snacks
  • suggestions on areas you may like to try out your new knowledge

Attendees will also receive a follow-up list of useful resources and links to many wild-food recipes.

The Sustainable Communities Workshop Series aims to up-skill City of Whittlesea community members in the art of sustainable, climate-resilient living and community-building. Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions to be entered into a prize drawing at the series' end. Every workshop participant will also receive a certificate of recognition for their participation and have the opportunity to share their learnings and creations at the celebration showcase in November 2023.
