Bicycle Plan 2016-2020

Our Bicycle Plan 2016-2020 sets out how we will advocate, facilitate and provide for more bicycle infrastructure and encourage more people to ride their bikes in our new and established communities.

The plan establishes our commitment to adopting bicycle use as a viable form of transport that contributes towards health, wellbeing and economic and environmental outcomes. It also encourages people to build social connections and participate in community life.

2016/17 projects

  • Projects:
    • Darebin Creek Trail - Sycamore Reserve to Findon Road (Stages 3-8)   $1,325,000
    • Plenty Road shared path - McKimmies Road to Bush Boulevard (west wide Stage 1)   $300,000
    • Yan Yean Pipe Track - Vincent Drive to Gordons Road and Crabapple Road to Buttress Crescent   $140,000
    • Findon Road Shared Path - The Lakes Boulevard to Hendersons Bridge + Pedestrian Operated Signals at Mill Park Secondary   $300,000
    • Hendersons Road Bridge - modifications to cater for cyclists  $170,000
    • Findon Road - pedestrian/cyclist refuge island east of Darebin Creek  $60,000
    • Minor works - various locations  $100,000
  • Design  
    • McDonalds Road share path - Darebin Creek to Civic Drive  $35,000
    • Bush Boulevard shared path - Plenty Road to McDonalds Road  $20,000
    • Transmission line shared path - Sycamore Reserve to Childs Road  $20,000
