Advocate on issues that are important to you

Advocacy is the active support of an idea or cause expressed through targeted campaigns, submissions or discussions that seek to influence the opinions and decisions of people, industries and government to support a project, policy or program.

The City of Whittlesea is committed to supporting community led advocacy and have developed a toolkit to support individuals and community groups to advocate on important causes.

Another way you can raise awareness to your cause is through contacting your local Member of Parliament. You can search here to find the contact details for your Local Member of Parliament.

Our Advocacy Toolkit is a resource that can help with developing and implementing advocacy campaigns of any size, and includes:

  • checklists
  • templates
  • tip sheets

This information is aimed at making advocacy as easy as possible.
