Pensioner Rebates

You may be eligible to receive a rebate on your rates for your principal place of residence if you hold a current:

  • Pensioner Concession Card (PCC)
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Card - Totally and Permanently Incapacitated (TPI), or
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Card - War Widow (WW)

Note: Health Care Card holders are not eligible for a rates concession

The pension rebate in 2023-24 is $303.20.

This is made up of the maximum rates concession of $253.20 and an additional concession of $50 on the State Fire Services Levy.

How can I apply?

Complete and sign the Pensioner Concession Application (PDF - 123KB) and email to info@whittlesea.vic.gov.au or you can post it to:

City of Whittlesea: Locked Bag 1, Bundoora MDC VIC 3083.

If you have previously applied for the rebate, the amount will be automatically deducted from your rates notice. There is no need to reapply if your circumstances have not changed.

We will conduct an online verification with Centrelink to confirm your eligibility. The name on your pensioner concession card must match our system exactly.
