New Councillor elected for Lalor ward

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) has today formally declared the result of the recent by-election for the Lalor Ward.

Michael Labrador has been elected as the Councillor for Lalor Ward for the remainder of the current Council term.

This by-election followed a VCAT decision in May that the result for the Lalor Ward in last year’s Local Government elections was void.

On behalf of the City of Whittlesea, we congratulate Cr Labrador on his election and look forward to working with him in his new role.

Cr Labrador was officially sworn in today, 13 August 2025, and will participate in the extensive Council induction program over the coming weeks.
