The City of Whittlesea is getting ready for a lively October with the return of the 43rd annual Victorian Seniors Festival – a month-long celebration of our senior community.

Running from 1 to 31 October 2025, this year’s theme, “Connect, Create and Celebrate”, emphasises the importance of bringing people together for social interaction, creativity and community participation. It invites older Victorians to discover new hobbies, skills and interests while celebrating their important role in our community.

Over the month, participants can enjoy a wide range of activities including exercise sessions, walking football, golf, morning melodies, social lunches and more. With something for everyone, it is a great opportunity to meet new people, stay active and celebrate life in a supportive and welcoming environment.

As a Victorian Seniors Card holder, you will also be able to explore Victoria with free travel during the festival from Sunday 5 October to Sunday 12 October 2025.

The festival will launch on Thursday 2 October, starting 10am at Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre (PRACC). Quotes attributable to City of Whittlesea Mayor, Councillor Martin Taylor:

“Seniors are at the heart of the City of Whittlesea. They have helped shape the strong, caring and resilient community we are so proud of today, and this festival is our way of recognising and honouring their vital contribution.

“The Seniors Festival is more than a program of events, it is about connection, celebration and ensuring our older residents feel valued, included and supported. I encourage everyone to get involved and help make October a month of joy across Whittlesea.”
