Amplify is the City of Whittlesea’s youth-led events program for young people aged 12-25.
Previously known as FReeZA, Amplify continues to support young people to plan events, perform onstage, and build creative and leadership skills, all with support from Youth Services and funded by the Victorian Government.
As a State Government initiative, Amplify offers you the chance to lead the planning and staging of unforgettable music and cultural events that are alcohol, drug, smoke and vape free for young people in our local community.
Join the Amplify Committee (ages 15-23) a youth-led crew that brings events to life across the City of Whittlesea. You’ll plan gigs, pop-ups, creative workshops and more, all while gaining leadership experience and industry training.
Benefits of joining the Committee

What happened to FReeZA?
FReeZA has recently been renamed by the Victorian Government. Locally, we are now delivering the program as Amplify.
What is Amplify?
Amplify is a youth-led events and leadership program for 12–25-year-olds. It empowers young people to plan and deliver creative, cultural and community events with support from Council.
Why did the name change?
The change reflects a State Government rebrand informed by young people and the sector.
The refreshed name and look aim to better reflect the energy and talent of today’s young people.
Can I still be involved?
Yes, applications for the new Amplify Crew (ages 15–23) open soon.
Young performers (12–25) can apply year-round to perform at Amplify events.
What is the age range for the Amplify Crew?
The committee is open to young people aged 15 to 23. This ensures members have the leadership maturity to co-design and deliver events.
Can I participate if I’m outside that age range?
Yes, you can still perform, attend events, or take part in workshops and pop-ups.
Our Youth Services team run activities and events for young people aged 10-25 throughout the year including school holidays.
