Festival of lights set to shine in the City of Whittlesea

Join family and friends on Saturday 18 October for Northern Diwali – a free, family-friendly event filled vibrant day of cultural performances, delicious food and exciting entertainment. with music, dance, and energetic entertainment. From Bollywood dance workshops and traditional performances to market stalls, face painting, henna tattoos, roving circus acts, fire shows and fireworks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Delivered by Mission Smile Inc, the Northern Diwali Festival has become a much-loved event on the community calendar. Now in its eighth year, the festival celebrates the spirit of light, love and unity inviting people of all backgrounds to come together for an unforgettable cultural experience.
The event is proudly supported by the City of Whittlesea through the Community Grants Program along with local businesses Metricon Homes and Bombay Real Estate. Over the last 12 months, the City of Whittlesea has provided more than $2.5 million in community grants, helping to bring local programs, events and projects to life, including celebrations like the Northern Diwali Festival.
