The City of Whittlesea is excited to launch a new opportunity for local households to save on energy costs.

The Energy Smart Homes Grant will provide up to $1,500 to help make your home more energy-efficient, comfortable and environmentally friendly.

Whether it’s upgrading insulation, investing in solar or replacing gas appliances with cheaper, cleaner electric alternatives, this grant puts money back in your pocket while making your home greener.

For warmer winters, cooler summers and lower bills, this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss.

To qualify, your combined household income must be under $130,000, and your home valued under $800,000. Both homeowners and renters, with landlord permission, can apply for the grant for upgrades to their primary residence.

Successful applicants will work with our partner, Solar Savers, to get quotes from vetted suppliers and choose the best option. The $1,500 grant will be deducted from the final cost of the upgrades, helping to reduce upfront expenses.

Even if you’re not eligible for the grant program, City of Whittlesea residents can still use the Solar Savers portal to access trusted suppliers and support their home energy upgrades.

Quotes attributable to City of Whittlesea Mayor, Councillor Martin Taylor:

“This grant is a fantastic opportunity for our community to save on energy bills and make homes more comfortable, especially during the cold winter days, while also helping households plan for the summer.

“I encourage you to take advantage of the Energy Smart Homes Grant and take a step closer to a greener future.”
