Glass purple lidded bin

The holiday season is almost here! This is a fun and busy time, but it can also mean more waste at home. With presents, parties and visitors, our bins can fill up very quickly.

To help you stay organised, here is an easy guide to bin collection, recycling and special services running over the holidays.

Changes to bin collections

Due to the Christmas and New Year public holidays, some bin collections will take place one day later than usual.

Between Thursday 25 December and Friday 2 January, all bins normally collected on Thursdays and Fridays will be collected the following day.

What this means for you:

  • If your bin day is Thursday 25 December, it will be collected on 26 December
  • If your usual bin day is Friday 26 December, it will be collected on Saturday 27 December
  • If your usual bin day is Thursday 1 January, it will be collected on Friday 2 January
  • If your usual bin day is Friday 2 January, it will be collected on Saturday 3 January.

If you have a real pine Christmas tree, we can collect it for free.
