Everton Drive and Sissinghurst Parade roundabout

We’re upgrading the intersection of Everton Drive and Sissinghurst Parade to improve safety and provide access to the future Regional Sports Precinct at Mernda.

This project follows the completion of the new Plenty Road-Everton Drive signalised intersection, which is now open to traffic. That intersection has improved traffic flow and access to homes, schools, shops, community facilities and the future regional sports precinct.

Construction of the Everton Drive and Sissinghurst Parade roundabout is planned to start in mid-March 2026 and will be delivered by Council’s contractor, Cole Civil Pty Ltd.

What’s happening

The project will convert the existing intersection into a four-leg roundabout, improving safety and making it easier to move through the area.

Works include:

• Conversion of the existing intersection to a four-leg roundabout, including a lighting upgrade
• Two raised pedestrian crossings on Everton Drive, on both sides of the roundabout
• A new shared path linking Sissinghurst Parade to Stourhead Avenue
• Drainage upgrades

This roundabout will form a key access point to the Regional Sports Precinct.

Future access to the Regional Sports Precinct

After the Plenty Road - Everton Drive intersection was completed, planning progressed for further access improvements to support the regional sports precinct, including the Everton Drive and Sissinghurst Parade Roundabout.

The broader access works will also include:

• A new entrance to the precinct from Plenty Road
• Construction of an internal access road within the precinct

Further details about these works will be shared closer to construction.

Timing and construction impacts

Physical construction at Everton Drive and Sissinghurst Parade is expected to begin in mid-March 2026.

A full intersection closure will be required during construction. Traffic detours will be in place, and access arrangements will be clearly signed.

When will it be finished?

The project is expected to be completed by mid-May 2026.
