The Whittlesea Climate Action Network (WCAN) is a community-led climate resilience group based in the City of Whittlesea.
WCAN was formed in 2024 through a collaboration between Whittlesea Community Connections and Mernda Neighbourhood House, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about strengthening our community’s response to climate change.
WCAN is a volunteer-driven community group that provides a platform for people who live, work, study, or spend time in the City of Whittlesea to connect, learn, and take collective action. The group supports community education, practical initiatives, and local partnerships that help reduce climate risks and build long-term resilience.
Our vision is a connected and informed community that is prepared for climate challenges and actively working towards a safer, healthier, and more sustainable future for people, places, and ecosystems across the City of Whittlesea.
WCAN welcomes individuals, community groups, organisations, and stakeholders who are interested in contributing to climate action and resilience at a local level.
