Olives to oil festival

Freshly picked olives, ready for the next step in the journey to olive oil.

This year, the CERES Olives to be delivered in partnership with the City of Whittlesea will also include the Scraps to Soil event.

Olives to Oil lets residents harvest olives and drop them off to be made into fresh, local olive oil. Scraps to Soil shows how to turn food and garden waste into compost.

This festival is open to all residents. It celebrates the harvest and shares simple ways to reduce food waste, use your FOGO bin, and grow a more sustainable garden.

Enjoy family-friendly activities and workshops, with easy tips to help you live more sustainably and support your local community.

Residents wishing to have their olives pressed by CERES must book a drop-off time. For our community, first 100 tickets are free. Each free ticket allows you to have up to 20kg of olives pressed.

If you’re bringing more than 20kg of olives, please book tickets for volumes greater than 20kg, these tickets will be subsidised but will come with a fee (see pricing below).

Volume Fee
Under 20kg Free
20-40kg $15.00
40-60kg $25.00
60-100kg $50.00
