The City of Whittlesea is inviting businesses and investors in and around the municipality to participate in the development of its Economic Growth Strategy 2026-2036, a framework designed to support economic sustainability and prosperity while creating opportunities for jobs, investment and innovation across the municipality.

Building on the current Strong Local Economy Strategy 2022-2026, this strategy addresses the needs of a rapidly growing population that is projected to increase by more than 40 per cent by 2040.

To inform this strategy, Council has prepared discussion papers covering four key areas: business growth and innovation, jobs and skills, investment and infrastructure, and culture and connection.

Businesses and investors are encouraged to review and provide feedback on the discussion papers until 4 December, via Council’s dedicated engagement hub at Engage Whittlesea website.

Participation is easy and will help ensure the strategy reflects the priorities of the business community. Sharing your insights only takes a few minutes and guides key decisions that influence the long-term direction of the City of Whittlesea economy.

Council is committed to building strong partnerships with businesses and investors and fostering an environment where economic growth benefits the entire community.

Quote attributable to City of Whittlesea Mayor, Councillor Lawrie Cox:

“Local businesses are the backbone of the City of Whittlesea’s economy. By providing you thoughts and feedback as we develop the Economic Growth Strategy, you can help shape how we continue to support growth, innovation and jobs for all.

“We want to hear from every business and investor in and around our municipality. Your insights are crucial to developing a strategy that reflects the needs and ambitions of our business community, creating opportunities for investment, skills development, and long-term prosperity.”
