City of Whittlesea Statement - Commission of Inquiry

The City of Whittlesea notes that the Minister for Local Government the Hon. Nick Staikos has today tabled the Commission of Inquiry into Whittlesea City Council Report to the Victorian Parliament.

Council will be considering all elements of the report in due course but will not be providing further comment at this stage.

Council notes that Mr Steven Kingshott has been appointed as Municipal Monitor to the City of Whittlesea from 15 October 2025 to 31 December 2026.

The City of Whittlesea welcomes any process that seeks to further strengthen good governance and support the safety and well-being of the Council and staff.

The City of Whittlesea will continue to deliver the important services, programs and facilities its community needs, and the elected Council will continue to represent the needs of the local community including through decisions made in the Council chamber.
