Epping's new outdoor gallery shines at Aurora After Dark

Come and experience Aurora After Dark, a free winter celebration featuring art, music, light installations and family-friendly activities at Aurora Village Shopping Centre and Galada Community Centre in Epping.
Visitors can enjoy live music performances, interactive workshops, family activities, light projections, public art installations and late-night dining opportunities with local traders. Developed in partnership with local artists, schools, businesses and community organisations, Aurora After Dark highlights the power of collaboration in creating vibrant and welcoming community spaces.
Taking place on Friday 3 July 2026 from 5.00pm to 8.30pm, the event will also mark the official launch of Outside Gallery@Galada, a new permanent outdoor exhibition space showcasing local creative talent.
The gallery features five illuminated lightboxes displaying artworks created by students from Mill Park Secondary College, The Lakes South Morang College, Y Community School and Northside Christian College, who visited Whittlesea Tech School's facilities to develop the works in collaboration with acclaimed artist and author Tai Snaith.
Additional artworks created from Tai Snaith's April school holiday workshop at Galada Community Centre will also be on display in the Galada Community Gallery throughout the evening.
The launch of Outside Gallery@Galada builds on Council's vision to create welcoming and vibrant community spaces where people can connect through arts and culture. Located in the heart of the Aurora community, the gallery will provide a year-round platform for creative expression, allowing residents and visitors to experience locally created artwork in a highly visible public setting. The inaugural exhibition highlights the creativity and perspectives of local young people, while also demonstrating the value of partnerships between schools, artists and community organisations in nurturing emerging talent and strengthening community connections.
